چکیده

Introduction. Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 infection-induced coagulopathy may be the underlying cause of limb ischemia, a sudden decrease in perfusion. The aim this study was to present case series ischemia associated with severe infection. Material and Methods. This unicentric, observational cohort evaluated incidence, risk factors, clinical, laboratory radiological findings, problems diagnosis, treatment outcome patients ischemia. Results. included 14 diagnosis 20-month period. majority were male (78.6%), mean age 67 years, body mass index > 30, typical cardiovascular factors. Only 64.3% disease 2019 underwent attempts salvage; 14.3% required primary amputation; 21.4% treated systemic anticoagulant therapy alone. mortality rate high (42.9%). Revascularization successful 7 (50%) overall amputation 28.6%. Conclusion. incidence infection, even thromboprophylaxis, rates poor salvage outcomes, encourage clinicians apply individually tailored diagnostic therapeutic approaches. Prolonged use heparin improve effectiveness surgical treatment, salvage, survival.

Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome–associated Coronavirus Infection

Whether severe acute respiratory syndrome-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) infection can be asymptomatic is unclear. We examined the seroprevalence of SARS-CoV among 674 healthcare workers from a hospital in which a SARS outbreak had occurred. A total of 353 (52%) experienced mild self-limiting illnesses, and 321 (48%) were asymptomatic throughout the course of these observations. None of thes...

Asymptomatic Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome–associated Coronavirus Infection

total of 1,732 cases were confirmed; 381 case-patients were healthcare workers and medical students. Clinical features, treatment protocols, and outcomes have been previously reported by various local experts (1–3). The etiologic agent is a SARS-associated coronavirus (SARS-CoV) (1). However, no asymptomatic case of SARS-CoV infection has been previously reported (4). In addition, in Hong Kong,...

A novel coronavirus associated with severe acute respiratory syndrome.

BACKGROUND A worldwide outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) has been associated with exposures originating from a single ill health care worker from Guangdong Province, China. We conducted studies to identify the etiologic agent of this outbreak. METHODS We received clinical specimens from patients in seven countries and tested them, using virus-isolation techniques, electron-...

Protease-mediated enhancement of severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection.

A unique coronavirus severe acute respiratory syndrome-coronavirus (SARS-CoV) was revealed to be a causative agent of a life-threatening SARS. Although this virus grows in a variety of tissues that express its receptor, the mechanism of the severe respiratory illness caused by this virus is not well understood. Here, we report a possible mechanism for the extensive damage seen in the major targ...

Mannose-binding lectin in severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus infection.

Little is known about the innate immune response to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus (CoV) infection. Mannose-binding lectin (MBL), a key molecule in innate immunity, functions as an ante-antibody before the specific antibody response. Here, we describe a case-control study that included 569 patients with SARS and 1188 control subjects and used in vitro assays to investigate...
